Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Education at American River College

American River College (ARC) is a premier learning community that transforms and enriches people's lives.  Here, you can be part of a diverse and exciting group of people, learning in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.  Our programs can get you started toward a more satisfying job or a whole new career.  You also can start here and transfer to the college or university of your choice.   Part of the Los Rios Community College District, which also includes Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, and Sacramento City College,  ARC currently serves about 35,000 students (full-time and part-time), primarily adult residents of the five-county Greater Sacramento region.  ARC offers a large number of two-year degree and transfer programs.   It also offers certificate programs that help prepare students for a career after leaving ARC.

ARC’s Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) Department offerings include Accounting, Business, Business Technology, Management, Marketing, and Real Estate.  A wide variety of AA degree programs and academic certificates have been developed with the assistance of business and industry to provide vocational training for students who are seeking employment. Many of the courses required for a certificate may apply towards an AA or AS degree. The programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level employment and/or for transfer to a four-year college or university.  ARC’s CSIT also prepare students to take and pass various industry-standard certification exams, such as  CompTIA, CISSP, Microsoft, Red Hat, WOW, Sun and Cisco.
